Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about installing and hosting with our backyard suites.

Our standard suite footprint is 8' × 8', which fits comfortably in most backyards, patios, or side yards.

Have extra room or a unique layout? We offer custom sizing for larger spaces, typically starting at an additional $500 depending on the configuration.

Many hosts set up the suite as a temporary outdoor structure, which often has lighter requirements than permanent construction. Exact rules depend on your city and HOA.

With every order we include a simple local checklist you can use to confirm what (if anything) is required where you live.

Each suite uses an enclosed cassette (flush-assist) toilet, an outdoor sink, a private shower tent, and a compact propane hot-water system.

Waste is captured in a sealed cassette designed to control odors and stay fully out of sight. Guests use it just like a regular bathroom, and you follow our quick cleaning checklist to empty and refresh the cassette between stays.

All suites include a 1-year warranty covering core structural components and hardware.

Unopened kits qualify for a 30-day return. We also add a simple satisfaction guarantee to make sure your first stays go smoothly.

For our Base option you'll need only basic household tools: a drill, screwdriver, and a level. Two people can typically complete the install in about 90 minutes using our step-by-step guide.

Prefer not to DIY? Our Premium / Turnkey option includes professional setup so you don't lift a finger.

We currently ship to all 50 U.S. states.

Standard delivery is free. On-site setup is available in select metro areas and is included with Premium installs.

With Done-For-You, there's no upfront cost for the suite. Our team installs and manages the listing.
